THE LOOP - are you ready for some hard mod?
Hugely melodic, solid songs somewhat reminiscent of The Jam, maintaining an early 80's feel of the mod/punk era.
Formed in 2003 in the market town of ELY Cambridgeshire, The Loop are a no frills guitar based power trio, playing gutsy powerful self-penned songs but with a simplistic "in yer face" approach.
Vocals and guitar powered by Martin Holt, Darren Day keeping the beat and providing the humour and new recruit Ian Duthie on bass, makes up the band.
From the early days 2 albums were produced, debut album "Game Over" and the second album "Shame", both self-produced and engineered, iTunes has availability on these.
More recently January 2012 saw a Paisley Archive, Detour Records release of the 3rdalbum “Lost Weekend". Many years on, the sound remains consistent, the songs are so lively with great stand out lyrics, checkout "Every Boy Every Girl" for an opening track, absolute class. Linking up with Rowed out Records in early 2013 to release 5 track e.p. “Monkey Boots".
New releases are planned for 2013, so catch them when you can.
Playing live is what the band love to do and being able to deliver the same quality sound as on CD is vital to the growing number of fans we have.
Supporting bands such as "From The Jam", Long Tall Shorty, The Scene, Small World, The Gents and Purple Hearts has added to the steady following that we have.
Supporting "Help for Heroes”, 4 gigs for the "MARCH OF THE MODS " Teenage Cancer Trust and most recently The Peter Quaife Foundation has raised our profile, so catch us at an event near you soon.
